Russian Jewish Congress

The Russian Jewish Congress is a non-profit charitable fund and the largest secular organisation of Russian Jews. It was established in 1996 by the initiative group of the Jewish businessmen, active workers and religious figures for revival of the Jewish life in Russia. [1]

Russian Jewish Congress unites the most influential and prosperous Jews in Russia, high-standing state officers, businessmen, actors of science and culture.

Heads of RJC

Administrating bodies of RJC are the Presidium, Council of Directors and Public Council. Heads of the Congress include Vladimir Resin, Mikhail Fridman, Yevgenia Albats, Vitaly Ginzburg, Yuliy Gusman, Andrey Kozyrev, Berel Lazar, Henry Reznik, Vladimir Solovyov, Gennady Khazanov, Mikhail Berger, Matvey Ganapolsky, Mikhail Zhvanetsky and others (data of the late 2004).

Checkup committee is headed by the deputy CEO of RAO UES Yakov Urinson.

Despite many influential state officers, businessmen, actors of science and culture being members of RJC, since early 2000th, its authority before the Russian Government has been reducing, while the Government mainly supports Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia.

In regard of RJC, its most close ally at the moment is the Congress of the Jewish Religious Organizations and Associations in Russia
